Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, "The similitude of one who remembers his Rubb and one who does not remember Him, is like that of the living and the dead.'' - [Bukhari and Muslim]
Lack of remembrance of Allah is akin to death. When a person dies, he is unable to do anything. Similarly, a person who does not remember Allah goes so far from Him that he cannot do anything which can benefit him.

Great reminder! This world is all a test, what we do in this world affects greatly our standing in the next. Allah (SWT) should always be in our mind, and in our heart.
